젊은 세대를 대표하는 문화, 웹툰을 만드는 회사인 네이버 웹툰은 20대, 외국인 관광객의 방문이 주를 이루는 성수에서 사람들을 더욱 끌어들이는 역할을 한다. 웹툰은 이를 원작으로 한 K-드라마 문화로도 연결되므로 높은 확장성을 가지고 있다.
성수역 3번 출구 앞에 시각적으로 흥미를 유발하는 공간을 배치하여 디지털 상의 시각적 컨텐츠인 웹툰을 현실에 구현했다. 건물에서의 시각적 요소인 ‘뷰’는 오피스를 설계할 때 중요한 키워드가 되었다. 건물 내부에서 외부로의 경관, 그리고 외부에서 내부로의 뷰를 복합적으로 고려하며 디자인을 진행했다.
오피스의 저층부와 고층부에는 캐릭터 굿즈샵, 웹툰 테마파크와 열람실 등 체험형 프로그램을 배치하여 고객을 위한 서비스를 제공하고, 잠재적 고객에게 브랜드를 홍보하는 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 핵심 공간들은 외부에 노출되도록 디자인되어 마치 웹툰의 컷 속에서 공간이 강조되는 듯하다.
Naver Webtoon, a company that makes webtoon, which is culture that represent the younger generation, plays a role in attracting more people in Seongsu, mainly visited by 20s and foreign tourists. Webtoons are highly scalable as they are also linked to K-drama culture based on them.
Spaces that visually induces interest are placed in front of Exit 3 of Seongsu Station to realize webtoon, digital visual content. ‘View’, a visual element in a building, has become an important keyword when designing an office. The design was carried out by complexly considering the view from the inside to the outside of the building and the view from the outside to the inside.
Experiential programs such as character goods shops, webtoon theme parks, and reading rooms are arranged on the low and high floors of the building to provide services for customers and to promote the brand to potential customers. The main spaces are designed to be exposed to the outside, so it seems as if the space is emphasized in the cut of the webtoon.
Concept
웹툰은 ‘컷’이라는 박스 형태의 시각적 요소로 구성된다. 컷이 겹쳐지며 스토리가 진행되는 웹툰의 흐름을 겹쳐지는 매스들로 표현하였다.
Webtoons are composed of box-shaped visual element called ‘cut’. Cuts of the webtoon overlapped, progressing story, were expressed with overlapped masses.
Site
성수는 젊은 세대와 외국인 관광객이 주로 방문하는 곳이다. 지하철 및 대중교통을 통한 뛰어난 접근성이 많은 사람들을 사이트에 모이게 한다.
Seongsu is mostly visited by the younger generation and foreign tourists. Excellent accessibility through the subway and public transportation attracts many people to site.
Design
웹툰은 시각적 컨텐츠이기 때문에 건물의 시각적인 요소인 뷰를 중요하게 다뤘다.
내부에서 외부로의 뷰를 층별, 방향별로 다이어그램화하여 뷰가 답답한 곳에는 실내 중심 공간을 배치하고, 좋은 곳에는 뷰를 즐길 수 있는 핵심 체험 공간을 배치했다.
외부에서 내부로의 뷰도 잘 갖추기 위해 배치될 프로그램의 유형에 따라 구역을 나눠 다이어그램을 만들었다. 이에 따라 외부에 노출되고자 하는 프로그램은 확실히 오픈하고, 루버의 밀도를 조절하여 보안이 중요한 공간은 보이지 않도록 보호했다.
추가로 배치된 루버는 수직 루버로서, 빛에 예민한 실내 중심 공간을 위해 빛을 조절할 뿐만 아니라 웹툰 스토리의 수직적 흐름을 표현하기도 한다.
Since webtoons are visual content, I thought the view, the visual element of the building, is important.
By diagramming the view from the inside to the outside by floor and direction, the indoor-focused space is placed where the view is not good, and the main experience space where people can enjoy the view is placed where the view is good.
In order to have a good view from the outside to the inside, a diagram was created by dividing the area according to the type of program. Accordingly, the program to be exposed to the outside was definitely opened, and the density of the louver was adjusted to protect security-critical spaces from being seen.
The additional louver is vertical louver, which not only controls light for a light-sensitive indoor-focused space, but also expresses the vertical flow of webtoon stories.

체험형 공간들은 외부에 노출되어 시선을 모으고, 회의실 등 보안이 중요한 공간은 외부에서 시선이 닿지 않도록 보호한다.
Experiential spaces are exposed to the outside and attract people, and spaces where security is important, such as meeting rooms, are protected from the outside.
